Wisdom Born of Pain

Love this line from Helen Reddy’s I Am Woman. I feel like its what I have gained and I want to share my Wisdom born of Pain and learn from yours,.

Todays Blog is from the recovery program I’m working on for 2021 retreats for all who want to join me.

Feedback gratefully accepted. It has worked for me and I hope it is positive for you.

It’s not how hard you fall it’s how hard you get up !

Id like to share with you the FIRST step of

‘My 6 steps for Getting Up HARD.

1.

They say time heals all, nope time does diddly squat, Thoughts heal !

The only thing time does is let you give you moments, moments to live in, so that you have a small achievable goal where you can keep it together for a moment, and then work on the next moment .

Your moments can start small, like the blink of an eye, and as you move forward they can become a breath in and out, eventually they will easily connect together and become a series of moments, where you feel good, productive and positive.

Sounds easy yeah?

It is hard!!!

The resistance is huge, I’ve had many people say they don’t want to live in each moment, they are scared they’ll forget their person if they don’t live in the past at least sometimes. To them I say, think of your person, just not in the past, love them and feel their love for you in this moment. I say to my son, I love you and you love me, it’s just different ! I can see him, in my mind, I’ll never forget him, if I see him in the past I get sad and I can’t see him in the future because he’s not there, but I can Always see him in the moment because that’s the only thing I have total control over, my thought, right now, in this moment !

You can always hold on to a moment, not get swept away.

You may be thinking, I can’t learn this right now. You don’t have to learn it, you know it!

And I can guarantee you’ve all done it before. Been in the moment!!! Here’s a few examples.

Ripping off a band aid. You brace yourself, you pick off the end, you take a breath and you RIPPPP, it stings, there may be a few hairs stuck on the sticky bit, but you know that in just a MOMENT it’ll be fine. You were in that moment.

You kick your toe on the coffee table! We’ve all done it, you may yell, swear, shake your foot, hop around, swear again, but you know that in a MOMENT it’ll settle. You then entered the next MOMENT.

Fit People! Your trainer has you doing that last push or pull with weights, your sweating, your grimacing, it seems intolerable, but you know it’s only going to be a moment, and you do it!

Waxing, for men, oooh the back wax, ahhh you know it yeah?

And ladies, the underarms or brazillian, well if we weren’t in the moment there is no way we could do it, if we remembered the past and how much it hurt, there is no way we would go there again, we’d be hairy, but because we know its just a moment and it looks sooo good afterward, we do it. IN THE MOMENT.

So let’s practice that !

I’d like you to make sure your comfortable . Breath innnnnn and imagine the size of your moment , is it a line or a shape around you or just a feeling, now bring yourself into that moment, like your dusting crumbs into a pile or cupping your hands and moving sand into a mound, and in that moment there’s no past and no future, just a now, and you take another deep breath in now and you feel good, you feel ok!

Anytime you feel yourself slipping into past or future, just take another deep breath and bring yourself back to now ! It works I swear ! And it can become an instant reaction with practice so practice practice practice .

Much love,
